Have old version of Adobe Acrobat on Mac OS 10.6.8 - how do I upgrade or buy version for this Macintosh OS?? I have Adobe Acrobat version 1.6.65 on Mac OS 10.6.8. How do I upgrade or buy copy of Adobe Acrobat (or is it called 'Standard' now?) that will work on Macintosh with OS 10.6.8?? I've searched 'Adobe' website, and it seems to run you in circles, and assumes you know how to make sense of 'upgrade eligibility chart'. Appreciate any help or direction you can provide. Thanks a lot.
Glen rojocapellini84. Hello Max, here it is, as requested: Kind: Application (Universal) Size: 1.9 MB on disk Where: /Applications/Adobe Created: Thursday, March 24 2011 Modified: Thursday, March 24, 2011 Version: 1.6.65 Copyright: Not only does file size look too small, but dates don't look right either. May be related to moving fies from old Mac to new Mac some time ago.
And I originally bought Acrobat in 2006 - so looks like Acrobat didn't port over to new Mac. I'm not sure what this file is. Anyway, any advice on what version of Acrobat - basic version, for home use - will work on Mac OS 10.6.8??
Thanks again, Glen. This does not sound too good.
It looks to me as if you would have bought Acrobat 8 or 7. It would be very good if you have the original media and the serial number If you have Rosetta installed, any version since Acrobat 5 works under 10.6.8 (actually, that's my setup). Whether you get Pro or Standard will depend a lot on what you are actually intending to use Acrobat for. IMHO, if you are not in a corporate environment, I would not bother about Standard, but get Pro, because it does offer most variety of use, but YMMV, and you should have a look at the feature comparision chart on the Adobe website. Hope this can help.
